Braunston School is a Church of England school and our core Christian values of reconciliation, respect and reverence, resilience, reflection and responsibility provide the framework for all of our aims and actions. Recognising our historic C of E foundation, Braunston School preserves and develops its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England.
In our teaching of Religious Education there are no presumptions made as to the religious backgrounds and beliefs and values of our children or our staff. We value the religious background of all members of the school community and hope that this will encourage individuals to share their own experiences with others freely. All religions and their communities are treated with respect and sensitivity and we value the links, which are, and can be made between home, school, and different faith communities.
It is because of our closely held view that an essential element of good quality RE is to encounter world faiths, that we arrange visits to places of worship. These visits are arranged in line with the programme of study for RE and provide pupils with the chance to encounter world religions as living faiths in modern Britain. We also benefit hugely from visits by faith leaders and other members of faith communities to Braunston school.
Please look at our school RE files on the left for indepth information, including our long term plan and school policy.
